I made this tour to Nordcap and St. Petersburg in 2019 with Cecily, but never
put it on the internet. I will do it now.

This is the Flåm fjord - view from our ship.

We crossed the Arctic Circle while at sea, so all I could photograph was the
Northern Sea. You have to imagine this is the Arctic Circle

We went to a Sami museum where they showed the struggle for self-determination

On our ship. Was this man planning to jump in the water?

Me on the ship. We were far north and it was cold.

The fjord near Honningsvag. Even the water looks very cold.

the fjord near Honningsvag

Near Honningsvag, the mountains here have only grass, no trees. It's too cold.

Looking down to our landing place and the life boats on our ship.

The fences protect from snow and apparently even allow some trees to grow.

We took a bus tour through Samiland to Nordcap.

Reindeer grazing, some have changed to the brown coat, others still have the
winter white coat.

Nordcap town with boats for fishing.

Giant crabs are found here.

This woman has gotten a crab from the pond which will become someone's dinner.

This could be a modern Sami house.

The scenery is desolate.

Another memorial

These small monuments are all over, also in Iceland.

These photos of the midnight sun were taken over a period of over an hour.
This is the first one taken a bit before midnight. It was so cold outside that I
stayed inside the ship and took these photos through the window which unfortunately
was not very clean.

At midnight the sun is visible behind this mountain.

The sun moves on.

And further

And further

And further

And further, but still at the horizon

And further

Since the sun was about to disappear behind the boat, I went outside and took
this last picture just after 1 PM.
On the trip back to Hamburg we stopped at a few places which I have already put up
in the order they appear on the map rather than the order we visited them.
